對台灣電子產業而言,新產品開發是至關重要的,因為大部份電子產業,都已經將生產地轉移到中國大陸。台灣都是設計單位,不斷設計開發出新產品,再由中國生產。但是,消費性電子產品的競爭非常激烈,大部分的電子廠都希望能擴充產品線,因此跨足醫療電子、汽車電子等產業,但以台灣電子產業的新產品開發流程來看,長期生產消費性電子產品,已經過度專一化,雖然也是電子產品,但用在其他產業上有相當程度的困難。因此,個案公司在了解不同新產品開發模型的優缺點後,試著改善原有的流程,導入不同觀念與活用許多工具,設法建構一個適合不同產業(以汽車電子產業為例)的新產品開發模型,包含細部流程,以釐清各職能與工作間的關係。本研究利用個案研究法,將個案公司所建構新流程與各種新產品開發流程做比較其優缺點,可惜個案公司新流程完成後,尚未完整進行過一個專案,資料不足以證實效用。;New product development is important for Taiwan′s electronics manufacturers, because most of them have shifted manufacture site to mainland China. New products designed in Taiwan but made in China. Because of competitions, electronics manufacturers are hoping to expand the product line form consumer electronic products to automotive electronic products. But the new product development process in Taiwan’s electronics manufacturers was highly specialized, is hard to Applied to other product lines. After studied many papers about new product development, we integrated different concepts and tools to build a reference model of new product development in automotive electronics industry.
